AVERAGE concepts, tips and tricks for SSC, Bank, Railways | Learn best tips and tricks for AVERAGE
Basically Average is equal to the sum of all the given numbers divided by the total of all numbers.
This formula may seem easy for smaller numbers but is time-consuming for bigger numbers so we have a trick of "Method of Deviation". Average always lies between the highest number and the lowest number.
Suppose numbers are 68, 75, 78, 84, 95. So here, the Average will always lie between 68 and 95. First, choose any number between 68 and 95 let's say 76, then calculate the deviation of all the numbers from 76.
So, in this way, we can calculate the Average in a much faster way.
Let there are n consecutive terms say, x, x+1, x+2,.....,x+n
Almost all the questions in competitive exams generally revolve around 4 to 5 topics which are as follows:
!. Problems related to Ages
2. Problems related to Replacement
3. Problems related to Batting or Bowling
